PolyMedix, Inc. (PYMX.OB: 0.76 +4.1%), a biotechnology company focused on the development of novel drugs and biomaterials for the treatment of infectious diseases and acute cardiovascular disorders, watched its stock move 4.1 percent higher after announcing the company had been awarded a patent for the company's angiogenesis inhibitor compounds. The compounds are being developed as potential therapeutic treatments for a variety of diseases.

China Education Alliance, Inc. (CEUA.OB: 5.35 +5.7%), a provider of high-quality education resources and services to Chinese students ages 6 through adulthood, saw its stock gain 5.7 percent following news that its stock would begin trading on the NYSE as of July 20th.

Minera Andes Inc. (MNEAF.OB: 0.72 +2.7%), an Argentinean explorer and developer of gold, silver, and copper mineral properties, watched its shares rally as much as 3 percent after announcing that the San Jose mine produced 1,265,000 ounces of silver and 18,080 ounces of gold during the second quarter. Forty-nine percent of the production is attributable to Minera Andes.
