Select Chinese energy penny stocks making big gains, biotech stock triples in three weeks

The Small Cap Network (smallcapnetwork.com), a leading investment community focused on small cap stock trading, has published a list of high-momentum penny stocks for April 1, 2009. Traders and investors seeking trading ideas can review the details regarding these penny stocks at the smallcapnetwork site.

Among today's picks are two Chinese energy companies. Puda Coal New (OTC: PUDC) recently reported a 57% increase in annual earnings; the company's price/earnings ratio are now among the lowest for any stock in the industry, in any region. Pacific Asia Petroleum (OTC: PFAP) shares rallied more  than 100% in less than three weeks, yet are still approximately 1/20th of their value a year ago. Though not yet a profitable company, PFAP shares have little risk left to be realized when priced near $1.00 as they are now.

Both of these equities have exhibited strong momentum of late, partially indicative of the resurgence in energy and commodity prices, and partially in response to persistent energy demands in the region.

Points International Ltd. (OTC: PTSEF) has continued to grow the company's top line despite the stock's decline through 2008. This disconnect between corporate results and the stock's price is the opportunity for penny stock traders; shares could soon start to reflect the company's 50% increase in fourth quarter revenues, or the 149% increase in full year revenues. Despite PTSEF shares' 66% gain off of March's low, this penny stock is priced at about 1/10th of what it was in early 2008.

Genta Incorporated (OTC: GNTA) shares surged more than 200% when the biotech company announced a class action complaint against them had been dismissed by the Superior Court of New Jersey. Though the dismissal won't create revenue of earnings, it will also not be a distraction to Genta's ongoing development of their lymphocytic leukemia treatment Genesense (r).

Genta shares fell from above 7 cents in July to a low of 0.5 cents in December, though have recently started to climb again on growing bullish volume. The inflow of buyers and renewed momentum could be a positive omen for this penny stock.
