RAIT Financial Trust (RAIT) is a self-managed and self-advised real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company offers a set of debt financing options to the commercial real estate industry along with fixed income trading and advisory services. It also owns and manages a portfolio of commercial real estate properties and manages real estate-related assets for third parties. RAIT conducts its business through its subsidiaries, RAIT Partnership, L.P. and Taberna Realty Finance Trust, as well as through their respective subsidiaries. During the year ended December 31, 2009, RAIT disposed of its investments in six residential mortgage portfolios and four Taberna CDOs. On July 16, 2009, it sold its residential mortgage portfolio to an affiliate of Angelo, Gordon & Co., L.P. In January 2011, the Company acquired Empire American Realty Trust, Inc.
