An analysis of Kirkland's (NASDAQ: KIRK), William-Sonoma (NYSE: WSM), Haverty Furniture (NYSE: HVT), and Pier 1 Imports (NYSE: PIR) has been performed at the Small Cap Network.

With the Home Furnishing Retailers Index outperforming the S&P 500 by 15% this month, spending on home products seems to be strong even though the recession may be hampering consumer spending in other venues. But, are the gains actually justified by results?

The Small Cap Network site publicly offers all of its stock picks and market analysis through its newsletter, delivered 2 to 3 times per week. To sign up, visit: access.smallcapnetwork.com/t/.

Kirkland's added 10% to its sector-leading 20% one-month gains yesterday, while William-Sonoma (NYSE: WSM) shares have gained 20% since January. While sales in Q4 2008 fell almost 27%, William-Sonoma has managed to cut its costs drastically. The company expects be able to derive profits between $1 and $2 per share for 2009. Pier 1 Imports Inc. moved to a fiscal first-quarter profit Thursday, topping analyst's expectations. The retailer was helped by a hefty gain related to the reduction of some debt.
