Charming Shoppes, Inc. is a multi-brand, specialty apparel retailer with a market share in womens plus-size specialty apparel. Its business operations consisted primarily of three distinct core brands: LANE BRYANT, FASHION BUG, and CATHERINES PLUS SIZES. It has two segments: Retail Stores segment and Direct-to-Consumer segment. In February 2010, the Company opened an additional 28 CATHERINES stores in outlet locations for a total of 34 stores. In July 2009, the Company announced that it has discontinued its exploration of the sale of its Figi's Gifts in Good Taste catalog business, based in Wisconsin. In November 2009, the Company completed the sale of Charming Shoppes credit card receivables programs to Alliance Data Systems Corporation.
