An analysis of Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (SPPI), Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC), Axcelis Technologies, Inc. (ACLS), and ISTA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. It was a very positive year for cancer treatment research, which direclty involves Spectrum and Cell Therapeutics - each is working on cancer drugs. ISTA Pharmaceuticals is liekly to be near an approval for their eye itch treatment; shares have been able to ride the broad biotech wave higher. Axcelis Technologies isn't a biotech, but that's not what prompted its 20% dip today. The plunge was strictly an artificial one, and not likely to persist.
