After Trying Times Are They Returning to Favor? ACPW, COMV, KV-A
I Think They Are.
The following three companies, Active Power Inc (NASDAQ: ACPW), Comverge Inc (NASDAQ: COMV), and KV Pharmaceutical Company (NYSE: KV-A), had all had trying times of late, but seem to be making some albeit slow, but steady progress increasing share valuation. Good.
Active Power is a continuous clean power company that makes and sells products and systems that avoid power fluctuations. The Company, on a series of little dips and spikes has moved from $2.10 in late May to its current $2.50 price; a gain of 19% in six weeks. What I really like about this Company is threefold: 1) virtually no short sellers to apply downward pressure, 2) positive double digit sales and EPS projections, and 3) its recent gain has been almost methodical in the give and take and the windup has been; a strong ascent.
In a very hopeful story underway, KV Pharmaceutical seems to have taken the brunt of its descent from $4 at the beginning of June to below $2.50 for much of the month, and in little daily climbs, has found its current $3.08 price. Myself, I think it’s undervalued in this range. But stocks sometime need to test their bottom and find the resistance levels. There are a lot of speculating short sellers of the stock, but they shouldn’t ruin a new investors interest or prevent current shareholders from aggregating. The Company just launched a new product and its revenues are in a high growth mode. Sales and EPS projections are both in the positive, double digit range.
And Comverge seems to have found its compass and is headed up… the stock has been on a long, slow, steady descent from the beginning of the year, and seems to have found a bottom, and is now moving up. The ‘load management’ maker for electrical grids has been climbing for the last three weeks; it’s currently at $2.95 a share. It was at $5 three months ago. Sales and EPS projections are positive for Comverge and the number of short sellers to hold back a full on surge are on a handful of what’s normal. I like clean energy stocks as a long term play and I think Comverge is undervalued at the $3 level.
I haven’t, don’t, and do not intend on holding any of the companies mentioned in this article.
